The Republic Stubbie Collaboration

Back yard shaper and fifth generation Californian, Mike Schoen, sent in these photos of his 7’-0” Stubbie based on the Liddle Point Break model that he and artist John Culqui collaborated on.  Mike has a fascination with the California flag and it’s iconography, so that was the direction he gave John. Mike did both the shaping and the glassing.

It hasn't seen water yet but the next good head high swell to come rolling through he will be on it.

Great job guys!

Come Back with my Whale: Works by: John S. Culqui

Long Beach artist and TLP fan John Culqui¹s new show "Come Back with My Whale" is going on at the Curbside Gallery in Santa Ana. The title comes from a line in the Tom & Jerry Cartoon episode, "Dicky Moe". The whale will be featured throughout the nautical themed pieces along with pirate skaters and surfers.

"Gordo, Starbuck & Dicky Mo" by John Culqui

Latest artist version by John Culqui came out beautifully! John has become a big fan of our handpanes and wanted his own to paint up. He did this one as a tribute to Moby Dick. Pretty classic.

If you'd like your own blank canvas let us know. Enjoy!
