Get Ready for a GREAT weekend. Manufacturing Stoke the Movie @ Bird's Shed
Bird Huffman (left) and Pierce Kavanagh at Bird's Surf Shed getting ready for the big premiere this Saturday/Sunday of Manufacturing Stoke. A lot of work has been going into this premiere and I am so stoked to be a part of this. The Saturday night show is SOLD OUT but there is a new Sunday 4pm spot open that still has tickets.
Buy yours online at www.manufacturingstoke.com. Don't wait for that night as it could be sold out.
ALSO there will be a broken board recycling effort going on at the event. Bring your broken boards to keep them from the landfills.
Bird's shed is ridiculous. I spent an afternoon in there drooling and taking photos. There are SO MANY boards that I want to ride. Roamer has it that if you wanted to take out a vintage board you can. You break it though you by it. I love it.

What I'm watching - Grey Whale Sessions
I watched Grey Whale Session yesterday. It is a film by Tyler Manson. I like him as a director and I enjoyed the film. It's basically got some of my all time favorites in it with Tyler Warren, Keith Malloy, Chris Christiansen and G-Love who all are very soulful in my opinion. It's short at only a 30 mins long but had some good energy to it. I could actually feel that feeling of relaxation of when you go on a trip. It was sort of cool. I kind of felt like I was on a road trip. The only thing I wasn't all that stoked on was the constant product placement for the films sponsor. Watch it and you will see what I mean. All and all though I'd recommend it. Enjoy

Calling all Eco Surf Vendors! Encinitas Environmental Day wants you!
It's that time of year again when our community gets together and celebrates all things environmentally friendly. This year the minds behind EEDay are very focused on showing off sustainable and eco-friendly surf products to our community. As usual the event will feature all forms of eco friendly resources but this year they want to hear from the surf industry about what options are available for our surf community. Kipp and I will be there showing of our recycled handplanes so come and join us in educating the community about what they can do that is good for the environment and have a whole lot of fun in the process.
Again this year's poster is designed by Jamie and Tak of Studio Aiuto the poster concept is 5 YEARS OF SUSTAINABILITY.
The mandala has 5 layers that terrace down from the main sun ("egg") layer, representing the 5 years of EEDay.
Each layer features a different element of land & sea of Encinitas (seed pods, prickly pears, wind, kelp & ocean and sandpipers).
The background pattern represents all the participants without whom this event would not be possible.
Any final sponsor logos need to be in for printing by the end of the day Tuesday (May 10th) (absolute final deadline).
We need to print Wednesday in order to have 3 weeks of exposure.
To sign up or for questions about participating go to www.eeday.org

Two Weeks Online Premier - Free
My friend Johnny Abegg has just released an online premier for his movie Two Weeks. I watched a directors cut a few weeks back and really liked it. It's an artistically cut film about his solo trek into the wilderness to be along with his thoughts. It made me think for sure.
Good on you Johnny for putting yourself out there. Congrats on the success of the film!
You can watch the file for free on Vimeo or YouTube thanks to Patagonia! Enjoy
